The reason you aren’t losing weight
Eating right and exercising are the actions we are constantly being told to take to lose weight and get in the best shape of our lives. Why, then, is it so hard to do? What makes some people ‘get it’, and it is so hard for others to step away from the chocolate cake?
It all comes down to your self-belief. How much you love yourself and how you believe you should be treated.
Many people have suffered from low self-esteem for as long as they can remember. If you always think you’re not good enough and are somehow failing, this lack of self-belief spreads across all aspects of your life, and suddenly you start thinking you aren’t worth the good food. You aren’t worth putting that extra effort into making yourself feel good. And who cares if you’re fat – even if you lost weight, you’d still hate your body.
Those who suddenly find that weight loss is easy are those who have decided to be kind to themselves. Love their body regardless of its shape and kick out negative self-talk. It all becomes much simpler if we can stand up to our inner voice that says we aren’t worth it.
We intuitively reach for foods that nourish our bodies; we move more because it feels good and makes us happy. When we reach for the chocolate cake, it isn’t because we want to numb our emotions; it’s because we want to enjoy it.
So today, I’m taking a stand against that annoying little voice that says I can’t. I am worth it, and I love myself no matter what.
It will take a lot of work, but we can do this with practice!
