How to get out of bed and into the Gym
It is winter and its definitely colder and darker and getting out of bed in the morning is getting harder and harder.
Here are my Top Tips for keeping up with your morning exercise routine through the colder months.
- Pack your bag the night before, lay out your gym clothes on your bedside table and set your alarm with a new alarm tone! I have found that if I put my alarm clock on the other side of the room I am more less likely to hit snooze and jump back into bed.
- Arrange to pick up a friend. If you know she is going to be waiting out in the cold for you, you will HAVE to get out of bed and get moving.
- Practice. I know this sounds a bit weird, but practice getting up as soon as the alarm goes off. Make it a habit to turn the alarm off and jump out of bed straight away. The more often you do it, the easier it will get. The same happens if you practice hitting snooze. Soon you will do it without thinking, and soon it will be summer and you won’t have achieved that summer body yet!
